Florida Governor DeSantis signed a bill into law ending the Walt Disney Co.’s self-governing status in the area around Walt Disney World in Orlando. The move is widely seen as retaliation against the company for criticizing a new education law signed by the Republican governor.

I'm not for more government. That said now they have to deal with permits and all the other red tape all other businesses have to pay and deal with. The permits alone are really going to cost disney. Oh and everything they do has to be approved. Now they will pay off whoever they want still. It's all just red tape and payments to who.
Disney should consider moving to Ukraine after the war. Because Ukraine has the best democracies in the world as well as a great president.
And it's the the taxpayers that will be paying for this. Desantis won't suffer since he is getting plenty of money from the real estate companies to continue price gouging Florida citizens on home and rent prices. Not that Desantis cares he is just gathering political points while further gerrymandering the state.
Look at the left scrambling to try to defend Disney world. A multi billion dollar company.
Disney is disgusting. Promoting nothing but confusion between children's little heads. They got what they deserved for not staying in their lane, and Florida Governor exposed their evil agenda.
Keep in mind that Disney is owned by Shanghai. So they are trying to undermine you.
Why are they trying to spin this as the poor working folk of Disney are going to lose money because of the Bill? The Bill doesn’t say anything about Disney making money or have anything to do with them making money. It just makes them have to follow the law every other business has to follow, and no special privileges.

Disney it’s seems were their own little country. Too bad they didn’t just set an example for everyone and stay totally neutral branding Disney as accepting “everyone” and a place of joy where you could come to escape the hatred and division of the world and all political views were left at the gate before you entered.
All whining aside: This is why we have courts. All due respect for any governor, this should have been a lawsuit, not a bill-then-law. Wielding power isn't governance. The whole situation is silly and the governor's office is legitimizing it by spending even a moment on it when we have much larger problems in Florida.
Aside from the obvious benefits to his political brownie points, the long term ramifications for Florida, a DEEP RED STATE, is
1.) increases in property taxes across the state (discouraging migration to Florida and land loan and tax defaults). I'm not going to vote for that.
2.) the probable abolition of the basic grocery tax exemption (which allows MILLIONS of Floridians to stay off food stamps). I'm not going to vote for that either.
3.) the abolition of the state income tax exemption (making it even more difficult for service workers and hourly workers to buy homes) because of less disposable income. I'm sure as heck not going to vote for this.
Governor DeSantis was trying to do the right thing by Republicans and families, but this was a serious mistake. When Mar-a-Lago sees a 20% property tax hike (as well as every wealthy coastal property, another contributor to the tax-free status of every Floridian), Mr. DeSantis's support among wealthy republicans (read, donors) will start to consider their other options, as this is a clear violation of trust between Mr. DeSantis and major political donors.
People want to talk about anti grooming but also wants churches in schools and allowing pamphlet of their imaginary friend in every freakin building.
Disney is screwed and I am so happy. The only place it can go is to a blue state and that won’t work because the land isn’t cheap, the taxes are high and all of the tree huggers, environmentalists and climate crazies aren’t going to stand for Disney coming in to build what they need to build to be successful. Also, the weather isn’t nearly as nice in liberal states as it is in Central Florida. Nickel and diming customers every chance they get. I hope everything Disney does fails. Thank you DeSantis

Reuters called the latest move by Florida "retaliation" then the comment section was quickly shut down. I guess the true retaliation was the vast majority of Americans agreeing with Florida.
I pray to Jesus that Desantis builds low income housing on the Walt Dusney World property.
