The state government must be prepared with funded-legislation to help its citizens in times of 'small' disasters now. It is the way it is with climate change and its just going to get worse. Unfortunately our Republicans have historically voted against such funding on state levels saying, 'people need to buy insurance' not taking into account those living at or below poverty nor the hardest hit, the working poor middle class. My heart goes out to all of these people.😪🙏
That's really great thinking did you know that most trailer houses aren't even insurable. So that's all most of us here can afford to live in. And then when you ask yourself why is that all they can afford to live in? Then you can blame some of it on drug addiction or untreated mental illness that is the result of a terrible public Healthcare System.
The other real problem comes down to poor schooling underfunded education for poor zipcodes and underfunded racist school systems. It's really easy to think you got it all figured out when you live in a nice house and are making good money it's really easy to blame people for not buying insurance. The truth of it is it's easier to oppress people by not paying them what they're worth and B oppressing them systemic patriarchal racism has been around since the colonists founded this piece of crap.
