A federal appeals court ruled that the DOJ is free to resume reviewing 100 classified documents seized from former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Trump insisted that he declassified the records, however his lawyers have not made that argument in court. NBC News’ Peter Alexander has the latest on the investigation.

How preposterous is Trump's argument that he declassified all of the documents he took home, and so the FBI had no business seizing any of them or investigating him? That assumes that a president in these cases cannot commit treason because, after all, it is the president who can absolutely decide what is and isn't classified. So, Trump could have shared highly sensitive information with a hostile foreign nation, severely compromising US national security without having to take any responsibility for that.
The only benefit of having had Trump as president is that his presidency has demonstrated not only how vulnerable the US is to foreign and domestic threats, but the incomprehensible lengths to which some have been willing to go in support of this would-be autocrat.
