Douglas looks very handsome today. I think that the reason that the Queen didn't express political opinions was because we generally tolerate political attitudes in men a lot more than we do women. Queen Victoria knew that and that is why she became reclusive to a large extent. Or Queen Christina – She's remembered for her abdication and her conversion from Lutheranism to Roman Catholicism.
Well especially as a woman we are either considered cold for not weeping publicly or else we are accused of being hysterical if we do. I was raised the same way that not everyone is entitled to the secrets of your heart and you are more at risk of being emotionally manipulated if you share them all too. It's peculiar now how people are accused of being fake etc. if they are not melodramatic constantly and people are so insensitive themselves they took no notice of how heartbroken she was after her husband died because she maintained a smile she did that more to make others feel comfortable too not seem a burden with all her sorrows stayed strong led by example. She had a consistent steadfast quality to her a quiet dignity many of her traits are rare now so not always recognized.
My hope is that King Charles will now stand with by and for all his subjects who have stood with by and for his mother our Queen Elizabeth II. Our future is one and the same.
