Driver accidentally unlocks, drives Tesla after mistaking it for his own

A Tesla owner in Vancouver was able to unlock and drive away in someone else’s Tesla Model 3 by only using the company’s app on his phone. The man said he mistook the Tesla for his own because it was the same color, but realized he was in the wrong car after noticing the interior didn’t look quite right and receiving a text message from the actual owner.

  1. They were texting each other, how does that happen

  2. Smells like fake news

  3. I knowingly drove off in someone else's Tesla, and I woke up in their house by mistake too …oh my

  4. If the one driver left his phone in the car, the other driver would have been able to just get right in and drive. Guess I’d like to know whether the second driver actually drove their car or whether maybe the phone was left in the car. Remember the phone is a key.

  5. Misinformation sponsored by someone

  6. Professional car thieves are licking their lips.

  7. How about a case of publicity stunt?

  8. Luckily he wasn’t Richard Ward-ed. Cops will shoot anyone over a mistake.

  9. Power steering failure 💥
    Steering wheels falling off 💥
The FSD Computing system jams and the car crashes.. 💥
    Poor build quality 💥
    Privacy Issues 💥
    High maintenance for a junk car,(My opinion)💥

Why would anybody buy a Tesla?
If Donald Trump built a car would you buy it?
    Nuff Said 💥

  10. Nothing to laugh about. You need only a tesla app to take someone's car.

  11. Would have been funnier if they just totally swapped lives after that.

  12. I hope it gets sorted so this can't happen again, but I bet this is also a funny memory for them now 😁
It would be great if they stayed in contact and became friends!

  13. I did this. I drove someone else's Tesla, easy mistake.
I don't own my own Tesla but still… Easy mistake 😁

  14. I would NEVER get a Tesla. I hate the tech in any new car really. Any new car has horrible tech..
I don't want anything, just brakes and steering. Not a car constantly beeping at me every 5 seconds for everything in the world..

  15. Sketchy and makes no sense if you understand key encryption. Clearly the two individuals were friendly and likely just standing near each other and their cars, which would have unlocked both of them. Otherwise, how else would they be texting each other.

  16. They could have both had Valet mode turned on, that disables the passcode.

  17. So they both did not have their cars passcode enabled? That should have prevented either driver from shifting into D

  18. How did he get his number to text? Why did they not have their password enabled on the car?

    What about seat adjustment?

    Not buying this 🫤

  19. So what your saying is they can still be stolen

  20. 🤣🤣 same security posture as Twitter…..

  21. Only a shmucks drive Tesla

  22. Good luck getting a hold of anyone at Tesla

  23. How can the original owner text him without knowing who took his car and their number? Honestly, how?

  24. That’s not my bag officer, seriously.

  25. Tesla boys are going to become a thing 😂😂

  26. Anyone that wants to retire stealing kia's here a new hustle

  27. Kia boys are about to upgrade to tesla boyss

  28. That's not possible. Clearly they both accidentally unlocked each other's cars ~simultaneously. Kinda funny though.

  29. Your phone is a signature to your car connection when you pair it. This means that they had to unlock their cars at similar time points within that moment. A rare coincidence. The other driver had to have start up on unlock which allows you to drive away with it from the App.

  30. So, a Tesla can keep you alive, in a 500 foot drop, but it cannot keep strangers out? This story hitting the air means many tests will be stolen.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  31. Grand theft auto, Tesla style!

  32. CAN'T HAPPEN with my car. No one else has a 32' Chev flabed 4×4. Mine is the only one. There can be
    only one. I made it.

  33. bound to happen, but the odds.. wow its the odds thats the thing.

  34. These things all look the same 🤦🏻 Copy & paste vehicle's
