Luis von Ahn, the man behind Duolingo and Recaptcha, is being inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame for his contributions to language learning the technological landscape. He sat down with NBC’s Emilie Ikeda to discuss the inspiration for his creations.

Interesting celebration of white privilege. NBC should do better.
My wife & I liked Duolingo at the beginning, but once we got into the highest league, Duolingo forced us to spend at least 30 minutes each day, otherwise they notified we would be downgraded (as we have many work commitments, it’s difficult for us to play/practice that long). So we both QUIT!
Our many years’ experiences tell us “IF ANY COMPANY WANTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL & SUSTAINABLE, THEY HAVE TO GIVE THEIR CUSTOMERS —> 3Cs —> CHOICE, CONTROL, & COMFORT”.
