President Biden signed the first law that makes lynching a federal hate crime after it was passed unanimously in the Senate this month. Emmett Till was a 14-year-old who was accused of whistling at a white woman in 1955. Till was then kidnapped, beaten, and brutally murdered while his killers were never convicted. The Emmett Till Law imposes a prison term of up to 30 years on a person who commits a hate crime that results in death, serious injury, or that includes kidnapping, sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill.

Since murder is already a crime this is symbolic and makes the family feel better. They were truly denied justice. It offers nothing for black folk in general but the usual "feel better" now come vote democrat once again. Lynching is no longer a problem but anything tied to racism past, present or imagined is used to keep black folk on the democratic plantation. Lets see, illegal immigrants got over 5 billion in aid from Massa Joe, black folk got a useless bill and a holiday and yet black folk are happy. no hope no change .
