Very happy to see those drills start moving. Oil is a strategic resource, yes. But it is not the only one, and so using some of it to solve a strategic issue seems like a valid choice. Using someone else's strategic reserves makes sense, but not in moments like these. As for the pipelines, there is noting bad about them other than they are slow and expensive to build. No reason not to have them for later. In the meantime an expedient way to rump up production is to build a terminal to the nearest pipeline and temporarily ship the oil by truck or train. That is, if you value expediency.
