In fact, all these measures are reversed, this is not Cuba, this country is like half the world, all these pitiful sanctions work like steroids for muscle building. Deflation occurred in this part of the world for the first time, prices in the domestic market are falling, fuel is getting cheaper and people in this country are grateful to their power and support their leader even more.
The west thought the sanctions would destroy the Russian economy, driving domestic unrest and weakening Putins power, this is why they need Ukraine to hold on. Unfortunately for the west, the Russian economy is incredibly robust, having been driven to diversify and grow since the west started sanctioning it in 2014. Putin is head and shoulders the best leader in the world in terms of longer term strategic thinking and tactics, and the Russian economy is booming, driven by high energy prices created by the west's sanctions. The big salvation however, is that only a fraction of the world have sided with the USA. Canada, Australia, UK and the USA do virtually no trade with Russia, and only those countries, and the EU have sanctioned Russia, and whilst the EU is a big buyer of Russian oil and gas, they haven't reduced their gas or oil purchases. Even the latest oil embargo is only partial, won't kick in for 6 months, and as there is an oil shortage, whoever sells the EU oil, will have to not supply others, who will buy off Russia.
Do you really think the sanctions against Russia? I think US sanctioned Europe low cost resources from Russia. Now Europe will buy high cost price oil and gas. Europe has oneway money flow to Russia and the money never come back. US against Europe and China.
