The movie that nobody will be rewatching in 5 years, but at least it clicked all the correct 'intersectional' buttons to win an award. Meanwhile, people are still rewatching Top Gun, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Book of Eli. SMH
I am Asian, I live in Asia and this is my honest review. My first movie review.
In 2022, AMPAS (the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences) made Janet Yang their new president. A Chinese-American woman with big pull in the Asian cinema market.
In discussion with the thirty (30) member executive committee of AMPAS, she decided to have a big Asian diversity year for AMPAS at the 2023 Oscars. Yes folks, it is these thirty people who basically decide who will get Oscar nominations.
They searched and found one American made movie with a large Asian cast, a movie called ‘Everything, Everywhere, All At Once’. They immediately jumped on it and nominated it for a record eleven Academy Awards. Basically everyone in the film, (except the janitor) is nominated. All nominations are solely to promote this Asian affirmative action agenda. In addition, AMPAS (and Hollywood) are desperately trying push the gay/lesbian lifestyle onto Asian families. I promise you that this will never work and will backfire drastically.
The Cast:
Michelle Yeoh – a 60 year old Malaysian actress who was in the movie ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ back in 1999 and since then has done almost nothing. She was essentially handed an Academy Award this year.
Ke Huy Quan – A Vietnamese-American who was in one movie about 35 years ago, back in this disaster. He has been given virtually every award under the sun for this role.
Stephanie Hsu – A Chinese-American in her first movie, plays the role of an overweight lesbian and for it has been handed nomination award under the sun.
Jamie Lee Curtis – remember her from ‘Trading Places’ and ‘A Fish Called Wanda’ etc? Well she plays the role of an overweight lesbian and has received every award under the sun.
None of the above four do anything in the film that is deserving of recognition. Nothing.
The Film:
A thoroughly confusing, badly acted, terribly scripted set of scenes, that make absolutely no sense whatsoever. The movie is like watching a video game that you can’t follow.
It is basically about an Asian couple and their lesbian daughter, who work in a dry cleaning store and . . . there is some martial arts . . . and well, that is about it. Oh yeah there is some martial arts again.
The movie was the worst I have ever seen with an Asian cast and to be honest it is actually quite insulting that AMPAS would choose this garbage to disingenuously praise Asians. We are not that stupid and we are also not that desperate.
For those of you who are interested in Asian movies and Asian culture, here are a few great movies I recommend:
Not One Less (1999), China
Lust, Caution (2007), China
Audition (1999), Japan
Three Idiots (2009), India
There are many others, but sadly EEAAO is not one of them.
In conclusion, this was a tragic case of affirmative action gone wrong. Asians make great films in Asia, but putting them in some ridiculous Hollywood nonsense, giving them one thousand awards and fake praise all over the internet is not the way to open doors of opportunity for anyone. It just causes embarrassment for us, resentment for others and makes us Asians look like we are a charity case. Which we definitely are not.

The only message that really matters
Jesus could be coming soon. We see signs such as the Euphrates River drying up as is mentioned in the book of Revelations so that the Kings of the east may come, some say this could be china coming from the east. As well as the book of Matthew says we will hear of wars and rumors of wars as well as disasters and plagues and pestilences. These will all be signs that he is coming soon. The one sign that will tell us for sure is laid out in the book of Daniel saying when we see the abomination of desolation in the temple of God showing himself to be God this will be the ultimate sign. He who has ears let him hear what the spirit of the Lord is saying to the church. Some believe that could potentially be the coronation of King Charles as he will be in the temple of God stating his allegiance to protect the Church of England while being an occultist that has strong interests in islam as he has studied it and made many visits to the Arab world. Some would say islam's savior is the bibles AntiChrist. Islam is waiting for the anti Christ and they are going to get a shock when Jesus comes to render judgment for the lies and falsehoods of that religion. 6 blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. We can't be offended about the truth. Bc that can shut us out. Jesus is looking for those desperate for the truth. Not those who shy away from it and are offended. Many say oh they have been saying for so long Jesus is coming back. The bible says the Lord is not slack concerning his promise of returning but he is giving people time to repent. We have to be absolutely sure that we are ready. Bc after this life comes eternity in the horror of hell or eternal bliss. We should continually examine ourselves and each other bc it is the only thing that matters. If we find ourselves in hell one day there will not be so much as a drop of water for us when we are in the flame. The rich man in Chapter Luke was in hell begging for one drop of water and his request was denied. We cannot keep sitting in the house when it is on fire. We must take action. The rich man was told he had his portion in his previous life and there was nothing for him in the next life. We have to wrap our minds around how horrendous the flame will be. We have to be prepared for that if we refuse to submit to Christ and chose to go our own way. The bible lays out a hell that will be an absolute horror, and one that is inescapable. That is the punishment God gives for essentially rejecting his son's life on the cross. Indifference and disinterest in the gospel equates to rejecting Christ's blood that was poured out on calvary. The only things that washes our sins, and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Jesus was God literally coming to earth as a humble man and dying a horrendous death for those who would receive his atonement. He came to die for his chosen, those he foreknew before the foundation of the earth. His vessels of mercy. As he said I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and compassion on whom I will have compassion. And I will harden those I chose to harden that they will be essentially damned. It is only when we live according to the bible that we fulfil our eternal purpose as it is the instruction manual of the soul. As well as the protector of the soul I might add. If we live according to Jesus our soul is protected from the darts of the enemy. We were made to worship and serve our creator and to snatch souls from the fire. We are required to give up our dreams and desires while here to serve others but our reward is profound. What more could anyone want then eternal life? Jesus said he who believes in me will live though he dies. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. The bible says eye has not seen and ear has not heard or entered into the mind of man what God has prepared for those who love him. However hell is going to be full of nice people, ppl who appreciate Jesus or appreciate the message of the gospel. But according to Jesus that is not enough. Jesus said follow me which means we have to subscribe to the teachings of Jesus. We have to search the scripture to know what is expected. This is the one thing we cannot come up short on. Bc the consequence is eternal torment we can't let that happen to anyone in our family. The bible says a man must be born again to enter the Kingdom. That means if we are not born again we will go to hell. The only thing that will matter after our last breath is if we had a relationship with Jesus Christ. And did he ever bring us into the family, if not we are in danger of the judgement. We must humble ourselves, repent, and put our faith in Christ. We must come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our money will not save us on that day. Our interests and hobbies will not save us. Our human relationships will not save us. A Jesus of our own making will not save us. It is only the Jesus Christ as laid out in Holy Scripture. The bible commands all men every where to repent and believe the gospel. Most people are too distracted with this life They did not submit to Jesus as their Lord and Savior to receive the salvation that he is offering. This is exactly what satan intended. He wants to take us all to hell with him. He began the rebellion against God thousands of years ago and was kicked out of Heaven. The gospel message is that there is not one that is good, no not even one. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That is why Jesus Christ came and lived a perfect sinless life. So he could stand in our place when we stand before God to be judged. The bible says he who knew no sin became sin so we could receive the righteousness of God. If we die without this atonement we will die in our sins. Jesus Christ paid for our sins but we can only receive this salvation by coming to him in faith and repentance. The bible says the way that seems right to a man is the way of death. In the new testament Jesus did not submit himself to everyone that believed bc some were superficial. Repent today, and put your trust in Christ. He said if you are not willing to come after me, you are not worthy of me. And whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, but whoever will lose their life for the sake of Christ will find it.

It was just a phenomenal night. We all knew what was going to happen (although, tbh, I really thought Angela Basset was finally going to win but I'm very happy for JLC) and it didn't disappoint one bit! Everything Everywhere All At Once was just that…..Everything and Everywhere.

After last years Oscars, they had to bring the Oscars back to a wholesome and healthy ceremony and really give the awards to the people who really deserves it. I think they did it!

Michelle is not just Malaysian-born; she is still a Malaysian citizen😂❤! She is known as Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh. Tan Sri is a title given by the sultan for her achievements in the movies, comparable to the British “dame” or Sir”, maybe higher.

I really feel this was the most emotionally resonating Oscars in a very long time. All four acting wins brought me tears, I was so happy for them!

5:20 ? Diversity doesn’t just mean Black. A lot of Asians won this year, from China, Malaysia, Taiwan, India with RRR and The Elephant whisperers, even Latinos with Del Toro winning again, and of course Carter for costume design, a black woman. So yes it was a very good year for diversity.

Ke Huy Quan….this amazing man better be getting some killer acting gigs asap..he love of life, his true heartfelt hope and inspiring story to never give up on ur dreams is so needed and it's thrilling to watch him finally get where he just always wanted to be!
