This was absolutely tragic. I feel for this family and their loss. His stupidity cost way too much.
He was reckless and dangerous and gives good cops a bad rep!
For everyone saying he should have been convicted for murder or sent to prison for life. The basic reasoning for the sentence is that it was manslaughter as it was unintentional. He was responding to a call, even though it was non emergent. He was responding to a call from a neighbor concerned about an open door on the house. Then it was proven that Atatiana Johnson was armed and holding the gun because she heard noises. Then when Dean saw Johnson with the gun through the window he shot her.
Basically, this case is not cut and dry straight up murder. It is also a collection of crap circumstances.
