  1. spanish flu killed 75 million we have had 5 million world wide with covid . we had a world population of 1.8 billion in 1918 we have a population we now have 7.9 billion . do the math . this is nothing like the spanish flu

  2. Haha this is hilarious they would compare Covid which you have a 0.1% chance of dying from to the Spanish flu that killed over 50 million people. DEMOCRATS have always been about control and you can't control a nation without first making them afraid.

  3. this is so misleading, Back then we didn't even know what a virus was let alone what the Spanish flu was, how it spread, or what to do to combat it, face masks were just one of DOZENS of things we did literally without any knowledge of whether it would do ANYTHING at all, other practice included the infamous gasoline baths, hosing down roads with antiseptic, i mean Penicillin hadn't even been invented yet and we treated bacteria and virus as the same "invisible death" the Spanish flu was so much more different, its victims for one were young and healthy people, unlike this one which kills people that frankly were always warned there unhealthy lifestyle will one day have consequences. The current practice were doing essentially rewards unhealthy lifestyle's, unlike in say Sweden, where the incentive to having a healthy lifestyle and habits have been given the highest priority ever

  4. My aunt works in the emergency department as a nurse and she said they cannot make someone wear a mask… but they're literally in a hospital and safety first above everything since it is a HOSPITAL… It's not like it's a store, or a park, or whatnot. They literally are going to a hospital because they are not feeling good, yet nurses are not allowed to tell patients to put on masks??? That's ridiculous….

  5. Many Republicans have embraced the mask.

  6. It looks that the US had an experience of the pandemic in the past, why did the US take so long to recognize wearing a mask is helpful to slow down the pandemic.

  7. how does the china flu compare to the spanish flu?

  8. 24 hours News like NBC, CNN and MSN is not helping only looking for blame. They need to keep saying to USE MASK and WASH HANDS until the ALL CLEAR has been called. and everyone should make their own contact list when they are in the general public so tracing can be much easier. that's all. Our Lives Matter until there is a cure that we all can be happy with.

  9. bunch of racists, calling it spanish flu! Shame on you!

  10. Same thing as today. Businesses pressuring to reopen, money money money! Seems that's more important than human lives in this country.

  11. rising numbers are a crock of sh_t.. Many were tested positive and they didnt even take the test. Stop this BS.

  12. What are state leaders and doctors really saying about those cases: These MOFOS not wearing the mask and not maintaining social distance are what's causing themselves and their family and friends to get sick. Bunch of fools who can't stay home for a couple of weeks without thinking their little superficial-paper thing world is coming to an end. put the parents of all those little spoiled-instant gratification brats in jail too.

  13. They demand rent from people who don't have jobs. Those people receiving unemployment are accused of not wanting to work . So unemployment payments are coming to an end and rent is due. Go back to work! With this kind of chaotic thinking, is it any wonder that the numbers are spiking with no end in sight ?!

  14. Reporter: why do you keep calling it the China virus. Trump: because it comes from China that’s why.

  15. I wonder if in 1918 they allowed people to riot I mean protest? Then, not allow law abiding citizens to open their businesses to save their livelihoods. Makes you wonder 🤔.

  16. Is there a bet going on about if this is a green screen?

  17. where I work we have 4 teams that are not allowed to interact with each other even between shifts or outside of work. I am required to limit my going to public places even though wearing masks are required. People are not keep their distance which is making me angry. Stay home and keep your distance while wearing the mask is required. please respect other lives.

  18. Spanish flu 👍🏽
    Chinese flu wait… tHaT's RaCiSt

  19. like I said :black lives" won't matter when u start burying your family no matter what color u are.
go protest & riot on that.

  20. Take off your mask so we can hear

  21. To Those who don't like the masks to stop spread a deadly virus. Their daddy shouldn't have slept with his sister who is also their mother. Incest makes stupid people, like the rotting carcass in the WH and Senate

  22. I really like NBC news, and I'm sorry, but I can't stand this anchor. All she does is read a question from a tablet and yell into the camera

  23. Americans are super hard of learning.

  24. Does anyone remember 1918?? I doubt anyone here was born yet

  25. ok, the one who attacked me on American history, .dissapeared. . OK. why the anger? I am not American. Do you know where Europe is? Are we a democracy? learn history too maybe?

  26. The Spanish flu became such a devastating disease because of world war I now its globalization and talk of war

  27. One person out of 8000. To train 40 people to treat 1000's give me a break

  28. So I cant stop thinking how not reopening sooner during the Spanish flu. May have contribute to the great depression? Something to think about?

  29. I'm in Vancouver Canada. There are no mandatory mask mandates, gyms are open, businesses are still enforcing social distancing, and in the past month the number of new daily cases have rarely surpassed 20.

But we also kept our province businesses shut down until early may from mid March. And our public health officials were the ones making decisions not the politicians.

In fact my gym has been open since late may, I am literally writing this between sets on a leg extension machine.

  30. It would have been fine if hundreds of thousands of people didn't protest and if the media didn't encourage the protest and riots

  31. im glad the resturant have learned to adapt rather than complain!!!! bravo , too bad people don't go when they made reservations.

  32. Show a real pandemic to justify your new fake one? Nice try

  33. You elected a game show host as president so now we are all on survivor island.

  34. Mask wearing was an American & Western tradition. It was Americans & Europeans who wore masks first during Spanish Flu in 1918. The Imperial Japan rulers later learned & applied this virus-fighting tactic, on its then 2 major colonies:Korea & Taiwan. We were asked to follow suit. After 102 years, my country Taiwan, in 2020, still keep the old American-Japan mask-wearing tradition, showcases an excellent & unique example for beating Wuhan coronavirus/COVID-19. Masks play a dominantly key role in this battle. Located only 80 miles from the coast of China, w/ more than hundreds of flights btw Taiwan & China daily, (including the original virus-epicenter Wuhan), rejected membership by UN & WHO (Thanks to fXcking China), Taiwan was fighting the pandemic all alone. Yet, we are the first in the world to foresee, warn & react to the pandemic as early as Dec.31, 2019. We banned all medical mask export starting Jan.24 (Taiwan was world's 3rd largest manufacturer of medical masks then) and boosted daily production of medical masks from 1.8 millions to 20 millions pieces daily. Now you can get them for as low as 17 cents USD each. And we've donated more than 11 millions medical masks to medical staffers all over the world including Seattle, where I attended UW (class of 1995). You can also see White House staffers, including Jared Kushner, wearing MIT(Made in Taiwan) medical masks earlier. Since Jan. 1, 2020, the island nation Taiwan, never has a lockdown. Schools & most business remain open. My families go to work & school every day, in evenings & on weekends we go to night markets, restaurants, shopping centers & stores that are all packed. Taiwan is the first nation to reopen pro-baseball games too, now fans can enter ball parks w/o masks. Local & ex-pat Youtubers in Taiwan can make videos everywhere everyday. Life is almost unchanged in Taiwan since the pandemic. As there are no local cases for almost 100 days. Until July 15, 2020, out of a population of 23.8 million, the overall confirmed cases are 451 (including 438 already recovered) and 7 death in Taiwan. We achieve all these along, against all odds! One of the most important reasons is that over 95% of Taiwanese wear masks, including my 6-yr-old autistic son. Social distancing & handwashings are actually not practiced that often. Taiwan΄s area is only about 35,808 square kms (13,826 sq mi), w/ two-thirds mountain ranges. Such high density is hard for social distancing. BTW, the non-woven fabric of N-95 masks was invented by a Taiwanese scholar who went to the same technical college as my Dad. Also one of the leading experts to fight SARS in 2003, is from my neighborhood, his father was my grandpa΄s classmate. Their achievements just make the whole virus-fighting experience, somehow more connected to my family. So, my American & Western friends, you know what to do. As your grand, & great grandparents had done. All mask up for several weeks, then you can put them all down, gain back normal lives. Just like what took place in Taiwan. Cheers & best wishes. (Ignore those CCP chinazi net army & their hate trolls! Yep, Taiwan is a more normal & democratic country than China. We don΄t need VPN to visit YouTube, to use Google/ FB/ IG. We can criticize our President & vote. Just on Jun.6 recalled an incompetent pro-China city Mayor. Chinese just can΄t do those above. CCP never stepped on, nor ruled Taiwan, not even for a nano-second. And they think China owns Taiwan?)
