No, you had a safe, competent system before COVID. You now have an understaffed, overstretched one with incompetent pilots at the lower end. The answer is to tell the airlines they WILL respect the rules, they will NOT sell more tickets than they have seats, they will NOT refund no-shows or cancellations in the last week, and the airports will reduce shots to the manageable.
Then, you start training again.
Any passenger misconduct which results in a flight diversion should result in prosecution and a lifetime ban on all domestic carriers. Flying is not a Right.

It’s because the airlines are booking more flights than ever causing more arrivals and departures being closer together. Maybe if they limited how many flights airlines can book per day this could simplify the issue of flights literally overlapping each other? I know news coverage in Denver says the number of flights and shorter time between inbound and outbound flights has caused severe congestion within the airport causing 70min average in TSA lines that back up all the way to baggage claim. I’d assume that the congestion shown in this news report has been a result of the same issue.
