Women’s rights attorney Nancy Erika Smith called the verdict “reasoned” and while it was a defeat for one woman, she says, “it is not a defeat for all women.”

Only one sensible person here. Amber Heard has less than Depp but she has more than enough to make her case. She was given a voice but she just did not acquit herself very well. She is not a victim of anything more than her demons and carelessness. Depp was grievously injured. He deserves to clear his name. If anything Heard should seek compensation from the ACLU for getting her into trouble.
My question is, how come Johnny's not viewed as a "survivor" of domestic abuse? How come no one in the media is questioning why men too can't be the victim of abuse and that this isn't a loss for women, but a win for men? All the arguments I hear is how this verdict effects women rights but not men's.

I believe depp was abusive it’s all over his face and his attitude he looks mean his rings ….. everything about him looks sluggish plus all the drugs heavy drugs and alcohol abuse that guy definitely abused. That's not true that the jury only needed to find one instance of any kind of abuse she specifically said sexual abuse and domestic violence. So just throwing things or yelling at her, aka psychological abuse would not count. They needed to believe that she was sexually assaulted & beaten.

What if Johnny had told Amber that he was not punching her, just hitting her and then told her to tell the world and see who would believe her? Would he get away with that? Absolutely not and neither did Amber. The fact that he’s a man does not change the fact that HE is the victim and SHE is the abuser. Those saying that Amber is to believe, please cite which of the testimonials from Amber aligned and corroborated her testimony? Her proof? Even her ex-friends did not corroborate AH's testimony, the closest one that has any bearing (given that Dr. Hughes is considered hearsay, because she wasn't a direct witness and just base her views on AH's stories) is her sister, but ever her testimony (about the stairs incident) wasn't aligned with AH's testimony at all even.
There was a victim / survivor of DV in the case and that was JD, there was the perpetrator of DV as shown, heard in the mountain of evidence and that's AH.
The only thing these experts seem to advocate is domestic violence and letting abusers like Amber Heard get away with it.

I've heard copious amounts of people accuse her of 'overacting' on the stand, but if you listen to her testimony of alleged sexual assault with an implement, it is very credible. How she described the emotions, the reactions etc, are exactly what somebody who has experienced that particular type of sexual assault feels. She described not initially knowing what it was, the stillness, the numbness, the terror to move. Even the lack of feeling pain is the body's response to shutting down. How would somebody who never experienced that type of sexual assault know this? That's not to say that all survivors of sexual assault don't feel physical pain, many do, but many also feel numbness, as the body, and brain shuts down as a literal survival mechanism.
Of all the testimony, this is the part that plays on my mind most. I don't, nor does anybody other than the two of them, know what happened, but what she described is exactly what victims/survivors experience. I don't know how she could possibly be aware to recount those details, if allegedly making it all up.
I've heard people claim that she allegedly took that alleged story from her assistant, but how would she subjectively know what it feels like, in real time sequence of emotions/reactions that occur during assaults? How could she subjectively describe the feeling and emotions?
I don't know how many of you have had people recount their sexual assaults to you but I can tell you that, unless you're their therapist specifically working on these issues with them, they are very scant on the details. The assistant would not be going into such explicit details. People just don't do this. Could you imagine your sister, or Aunt etc, going into that much detail with you? It's just not something a person would tell somebody else, outside of a therapeutic session.

This verdict was worse than the one involving O.J. Simpson. Amber wasn't Heard. She was robbed.
