I was chilly today on the central coast; actual shivers. I had to stop and go stand in the sun to warm up.
I first learned about global warming, humankind's encroachment into previously forested areas leading to the potential for an eventual global pandemic along with the unsanitary Eastern wet markets over 40 years ago. Such claims were ridiculed as nonsense and scaremongering as big oil companies hired the man who helped tobacco companies spread their misinformation for so long to do the same over global warming claims.
And here we are.

"Heat officers" huh, sounds like the smallest of bandaids applied to a sucking chest wound. We fought world wars and plagues, but we have shown our (America's) absolute unwillingness to accept (e.g., not to politicize) and battle climate change. Our extinction will be well-deserved.

Wait. Isn't this the same state that wants to get rid of all gas powered cars by 2035 and go all electric? How are they going to have enough power to charge all of those cars during a heatwave?
Solutions: re-green all areas with permaculture projects (pond, swale building, grasses, trees), and integrating beavers! No more waiting!

Our next door neighbor’s gardener was over at their house today and died in their front lawn! Assuming heat stroke! For reference, this was in Mission Viejo, California.
