Pumping ground water, rivers, and lakes for agriculture uses doesn’t help either. That has a direct impact on wildfires, since it dries out the entire region. California should start by not growing produce in the desert and diverting all water sources to sustain it. Do you know how many almonds it takes to make one carton of almond milk? Do you know how much water a single almond tree needs per day? Now imagine this at a massive scale in the desert. And that’s the main source of California’s droughts and wildfires.
