ATC needs to slow the hell down. No need to rush all the damn time. Talk slowly and clearly. It's obvious they are trained to put efficiency above safety. With that training I'm not surprised errors are happening.
Laying off all those veteran pilots during pandemic was not good idea.

But when the air traffic controller says I THOUGHT you were going down the right side sir,
and the pilot says you said left.
It's clearly a incompetent human communication problem.

I bet these close calls are all from the pilots they trained online in 6 months to fill after the massive pilot shortage last year lol
