  1. I was able to get into income based housing when I was living in upstate NY fast. I found an apartment for independent seniors and disabled only. I was only eligible to get in cuz I'm disabled. I called multiple complexes in according to Wikipedia, the smallest city in NYS and got in after waiting for 2 months. It was hard getting in but I finally got in fast cuz I was in an abusive relationship at the time and the manager at the complex was a good Christian woman and was once in the same boat with her first husband, so she jumped on helping me out fast. I pray that these people can get houses and off the streets fast! 🙏🏻

  2. Tanya has to sacrifice the nails, the lashes, the hair and the pricy bottled drinks. She’s not at the top of the list as she’s probably not in dire straits .Her roommates are a good choice but she’s not as needy as most people who need the help.

  3. My heart goes out to the 3rd lady that lost her daughter. Times are hard. I can't afford a vacation this year.

  4. Also, 2:04 long expensive nails, "disabled" so she cant find a job. She is also part of the problem

  5. 3million illegal immigrants a year…..And you ask why?

  6. You can do a lot in 10 years….

  7. Don’t rely on the government to fix your life long poor decisions.

  8. This is a tough one. The housing is needed, but we’ve already seen the effects of concentrated poverty. No one wants another Cabrini Green in their neighborhood.

  9. It's not like this in New York City because Most of the public houseing and section 8 Is ran by blacks and puertoricans they Know how to run the system over there And take care of the high rise building's it's Called Nycha.

  10. I'm appalled by these ladies. After a decade they failed to pull up their boot straps and make something of themselves??? So they failed to get educated and work several jobs??? Typical🙄😑 Single moms who managed to bring several babies into this society but they fail to bring bread to the table. What have these women done for society? What are their contributions other than feeling entitled? I can't believe my hard working tax dollars supports these morons 😒 But they can afford weaves and acrylic nails??? You mean their children who are now grown can't pitch in? These leeches have failed their children and society on so many levels. LIsten up ladies, stop depending on society to take care of you, learn about birth control, get an education, and hustle like every other contributing citizen. Stop waiting around for reparations 😑 No one owes you anything!

  11. Disabled where? Stephanie please. Get off that list! Start there.

  12. TWELVE YEARS ~ and STILL WAITING…. But yet they ARE MAKING it a PRIORITY for these immigrants to come here and get there needs taken care of PILING them into the BLACK NEIGHBORHOODS without a second thought or any kind of discussion

  13. Heres The reason theres no affordable housing theres no such thing as affordable housing thats why there isnt any being built nothings free in this life and here you have a woman waiting for 12 years for a free home and in that time she had more children instead of doing better for the children she already had she had more and they suffer because their momma is to lazy to go out and earn something for herself and her family welfare has become a way of life for alot of people then they complain when their life is hard its their own fault!!

  14. I waited 4 1/2 years for a studio. In the meantime I stayed at shelters and couch surfed with family. A regular studio in my area is $1,250.

  15. SD is not the place to be if you're looking for affordable or govt subsidized housing. better off moving to the mid-west or somewhere else cheaper.

  16. I grew up in a crackhouse, I’m 49 my parents are still addicts, in an out of prison, they’ve been addicts since I was 12. After experiencing the things I did, I never waited for anyone to feed or house me.yes I slept in my car, yes I went to a shelter. Yes I rented a room, you have to find that inner you that wants better. Wishing these people get a leg up but they got to do better.

  17. Awww branell but she keeps having kids she’s been struggling since 1

  18. Rosa awwww what a cute cat

  19. What bums rent has been affordable until covid….. yet y wait that long to get it in 10 years you can be a doctor masters degree … you going wait ???

  20. This housing crisis is maddening. Everything is up to Congress and they won’t they even fix the problem. They rather focus on other things. Rich country but poor priorities.

  21. Yet migrants assume they can just get a place, no problem 😊

  22. I’m from Philly and yes, the waitlist here is crazy. I’m not on the waitlist, I make too much to qualify. I’ve been living in Media,Pa ( a very nice suburb of Philly) for 11 years. I never paid over a $1000 for rent. The most I paid was $875, but in 2022 my rent shot up to $1200 a month. In December it will be $1300 a month. Yeah, I can’t do that, but that price is actually good for Media. The town has blown up and of course that means the cost of living has gone up. Now, I’m looking in parts of town that are the opposite of Media ( not as safe or affluent) because I just can’t afford to live here anymore.

  23. And Boomers ask why we don't have families….we can't get housing for 12 years that is affordable for our incomes
    …it's math

  24. So you stay on a waiting list for more than 10 to 12 years waiting on free housing. So going to school for free to gain a high paying skill is just too much huh? This victim mentality has to stop, sorry if no one likes this comment, I hear nothing but excuses. So working 2 jobs is too much? Going to school, getting a certification, finding out how to make more money, stay with your children's father. Yeah I said it. I'm sick of these damn stories where all these women would rather keep having children for more money, not work, and wait for free housing. This is a vicious cycle that has to stop. Cry me a freaking river about all the reasons why you are waiting on free housing for 12 years.

  25. 1. Where are THEIR families? Extended families?
    2. Are they reaching out to churches?
    3. Some apartments allow for work in exhange for rent or reduced rent
    4. Are people living immorally? Having multiple children out of wedlock?
    5. How are they with budgeting, etc?
    6.Rent a room?
    7. Share a room?An apartment?

  26. It's funny how we continually talk about "affordable housing" for years and still nothing happens or at a snails pace. Better stop having kids AND get a second job/side hustle. You won't survive and your QoL will go to the shitter.

  27. Public housing should be shared with multiple families in one house at a time. It would be less homeless ppl.

  28. Affordable housing is in crisis mode.
