A lawsuit wont help because it would be dismissed. The US multiple Supreme Court cases have found government have no duty to protect any individual not in custody and police have no duty to respond.

don't rely on cops for anything. also i had an experience calling 911 and it was a nightmare and right out being rude and hung upon me when i needed them. sadly you are on your own.

And this type of police lack of help is everywhere. Recently my new truck was stolen and I couldnt get cops motivated to go get it even with gps tracking. The dispatcher acted if I was interupting her polishing her nails.

The 911 dispatcher should be charged
The cops are the only deep pocket. A guy in Canada was stabbed to death at a Starbucks, and a dozen bystanders did nothing.
when my sister went missing in a flash flood the sheriff went on vacation….. they didnt find her body till 10 months later…… im glad i never got to actually meet this "man" in real life.

Remember, if someone hops into your car with a gun, crash your car into something if you can, a tree, a stop sign, hopefully on the gunman's side, the more public a place, the better.. Don't worry about your car, worry about your life. Don't go to a second location. You may still get shot, but you will be more likely to survive, and the gunman will likely get out and run.
