The family of a 94-year-old man who was living at Atria Walnut Creek in California claims he drank harmful cleaning fluid that was left out by staff even though the company says the man became ill due to eating Flaming Hot Cheetos. KNTV’s Candice Nguyen reports.

I know for a fact from experience that senior living/memory care facilities cover up many mistakes/mysterious deaths with the elderly. You need to put cameras in their room and go there everyday to make sure your loved one is safe and being taken care of. It’s very scary!
So, I've been maced by a cop. At very close range. That chemical agent has a SHU (Scoville heat unit) rating of 2 million or more, and it is essentially pure capsaicin suspended in oil so it clings to the skin and causes more irritation.
That being said, I didn't have any burn lesions. Not a single one.
Hot cheetos are obviously not even comparable.
This place should be shut down immediately.
And Nursing home is when who don’t have a family or visit them with the elderly rest place police should not go there because if they dare arrest them i will kick them out

What a horrible way to go. You people have to understand these people dont care about your loved ones. Most all did not want to be assisting old people when they thought of a career as a kid. This is basically a McDonalds job to the workers and the company just cares about having no vacant rooms. The only reason the place cares is now it has a vacancy and a lawsuit on the way.

It doesn’t matter how much money you have…and how nice of a place your family member is in… these places are not safe for the elderly. There is no oversight. Workers are paid minimum wage to take care of our most vulnerable population. Most of them have zero education past high school. (Other than being a nurse assistant or caregiver, which requires a very limited amount of training.. I would not go as far as to call it education) I’m sure there are some good workers that truly care about the residents but there are not many.
Sue them, and jail the liar. Atria is killing people with cleaning fluid. They can deny all they want, the autopsy will show the truth.

It doesn't matter how much you pay, many of these Dump Sites for the elderly are places to store the old folks until they die. They are ignored, abused, and neglected. The more of us who are aging will end up in these warehouses. I volunteer at nursing homes and hospitals. and the things I have seen will give me nightmares the rest of my life.
I would rather cook and clean, and take care of myself no matter how old I am, the dailys of your own worths, is something everyone needs, and again with the vegitation. No reason why anyone would pay as much as a house payment, for something so sad and depresant. Nothing gray as baking your own food. and having dinner. and Btw you really should be able to ride your bike there. Same as locations of your schools. Pay and recieve as much or as little as you provide. Heartbeat and skip aways.
