Phoenix, New York and Bend, Oregon are just a few U.S. cities where shootings happened this weekend. While shootings are up in cities such as Philadelphia, Houston and D.C., crime analysts say shootings overall are actually slightly down. President Biden is set to tout his administration’s new plan to combat gun violence tomorrow.

Wait! Hire more police. Two summers ago the influencers didn't want the police and doo-dooed all over them so badly it discouraged recruitment and set-off a wave of early retirements. These incidents should come as no surprise as there are more firearms in the United States than citizens and that total does not include firearms held by law enforcement and the military. It takes more than a license and training to own a firearm. Not all people have the temperament to own a firearm. Unfortunately, it is impossible to determine who lacks that temperament.
