Texas sheriff Lane Akin confirmed missing 7-year-old Athena Strand has been found dead. Her body was discovered less than ten miles from her driveway, where investigators say 31-year-old FedEx driver Tanner Lynn Horner was making a delivery to her home when he kidnapped the girl.

People please accompany your children don't leave them to walk alone. Bus drivers should not leave the child unattended after dropping them off, there should always be an appropriate trusted adult to accompany the child back home to safety. Always make sure your child is safe by being with them at all times. I'm serious, create plans so that way you can assure your beautiful child is always safe. Never leave them by themselves.

Fedex has two seperate networks that deliver their small package parcels. The original Fedex Express that started in 1971, and the more recent Fedex Ground division in the late 90’s. Fedex “Express” drivers are direct employees that work for the company while Fedex Ground drivers are all independent contractors. Most of these Ground contractors are paid minimum wage or right above it and receive little to no benefits at all. They are either paid per package, a fixed daily rate regardless of hours worked, or a very low hourly wage. Most of these contract routes barley break even so the people hired are anyone that has a pulse and four limbs. Next time you see a Fedex truck look under the Fedex logo, you will either see a small grey “Ground” or “Express” wording right under it. These Ground contractors are technically not Fedex employees but they drive a Fedex branded truck, wear a Fedex uniform, operate under a Fedex DOT, and deliver Fedex labeled packages. All of these loop holes to skirt around hiring more respectable drivers and paying decent wages. Profits over people, even innocent children.
