As a r/r conductor we really need sick time… my 2nd child was born this November… I was only able to afford 5 days off unpaid to be there for my wife as she gave birth. She ended up needing an emergency C section(recovery time 2weeks+)… thankfully her family was able to fly in and help with our 1st born and newborn as she recovered from her c section and I was forced back to work.
I don't get sick leave. I don't get 24$ an hour either. And I'm not in a union, which I have nothing against. But I sure as hell would not go on strike and make other people suffer minor or major harm or discomfort just so I can have a better pay. That's just straight out selfish. Get a better life for yourself, that's fine. But don't make me suffer for it. I have enough problems as it is, I don't need you causing me more.
Unfortunately, He lost my vote 4-for Re-election….That decision should been left to RR and the Union…SO DISAPPOINTING….😎

If the Democrats were smart they would have included the paid sick leave Bill inside the larger bill preventing the strike thereby fourth thing everyone who wants to end the strike to have to vote for the paid sick leave as well. Of course Democrats are horrible at messaging and strategy so that they would rather just lose.
