Youtube and Netflix is ruining the movie theater industry.
Stay strong Studio's! These socialism setup Hollywood woke liberals are throwing on you isn't American!😂😂😂
To prevent mediocrity, refrain from indulging in “content.”
When your industry isn't a need, you shouldn't insult your customers, and you should give them what they want.
Oh no, not the film production crew… 😂
Not feeling sorry for Drew Barrymore! Entitled Princess just doesn't "get it." Apparently she didn't get the "memo" that there's a writers and actors strike going on. Someone tell Margot Robbie to "shut up" and go home. She earned 12.5 million for Barbie. Did she donate part of her salary? No! She's not even American. What does she have to complain about?
Not just Hollywood, Hollywood North. Vancouver and Toronto and the East are hurting too.
They spent the past three years scaring children and stupid people with their filthy masks. They called themselves essential workers while playing pandemic and stroking their egos. They did not care that other people were losing everything as small business was being forced to close, many never able to recover. It's their turn now. I hope they all lose everything. That applies to writers, cast and crew. Looking forward to more news stories like this.
Nobody who isn't an actor or writer will benefit from any agreement made (whenever it happens). And as for the public, there is already the paradox of choice of things to watch streaming, YTm, or any other platform… WAY too much to consider there being much leverage on the part of actors or writers when companies like netflix aleady have a produced streaming library they can milk for ages.
I'M GLAD PEOPLE CAN TAKE A BREAK FROM WOKY TALKY SHOWS.
TIME TO HEAL THE BRAIN. LOL 😂😂😂😂😂
Post pandemic economy is bleeding.
Going on strike is suicide. Why?
Keeping a job and food on the table is crucial during economic hard times.
The writers and actors are asking for massive residuals, but what about the costume designer that makes them look cool, or the prop designers that makes the designs for all the toys that sell, and, of course, the stuntmen and VFX artists. The entire system is unfair but neither side in this strike is even suggesting fixing it.
People are still forgetting VFX workers in this strike. It effects us too. We're the one's who make stuff look cool, better, and real. Tons of artist are out of work because filming has stopped. None of these VFX studios are hiring freelancers since work has slowed down. This strike needs to end TODAY.
Hollywood is obsolete. Just like everything. It failed to change with the times.
Lol the whole industry should collapse. You ALL get what you deserve.
I don’t feel sorry for this “industry” or Southern California. They’re all vaccinated… they’ll be ok.
Elitism pervades the WGA and SAG. They are what is known as “Above the line” in a production budget. That’s the 50% line. That means a handful of people make 50 percent of the money on a show and everyone else is Below the Line. There is even a payroll service for us called BTL.
Thousands of IATSE & unrepresented production crew and their families are being financially devastated, and it’s all been swept under the carpet. If and when they finally are allowed the privilege of going back to work for their 12 hour days, they’ll get to see WGA and SAG members enjoying the new raises and protections made off their backs while they pay off their debt.
How will we ever survive without them?
Does anyone know an actor/actress that's offered a slice of their 35 million to support the writers and crew? Most times, it seems that they want more!
The WGA are living in fantasy land, they want things to be like they were back in the 80s and the 90s and that's not going to happen. There's more technology, more competition and generally speaking less interest in what Hollywood has to offer. These people refuse to acknowledge that to their detriment and the detriment of so many people in the industry.
I feel so bad for how long the Writers & Actors have had to be on strike now, with no seeming end in sight? But i would like to offer an idea for something that could help get some extra $$$ to those who are struggling the most? Bring back ALL the Talk Shows – Day & Night – PLEASE!! I am totally Pro Labor & Pro Union & 100% support the Auto Workers Strike, as .. the Teachers, as .. the Writers & Actors & so forth; & will not cross a picket line, physical or virtual, not even with new Scripted Series Programming on TV! But i would like to make a case – that TV Talk Shows, Day & Late Night, should be allowed to be considered under the same kind of Contract Arrangements that are keeping Network News Programs (such as THIS one), still on air, 4 example. As those Programs also provide News, Current Events, & often also commentary, for which there is frankly sometimes little difference from any of the Major Network News Stations or Cable. In fact, Stephen Colbert provides more truthful News content in just ONE SHOW, than does a network like faux tv manage to muster in an entire Year, if even? And they are able to run their bs 24/7 regardless!!
And let's face it, especially since they already got curtailed during Covid, we really need some LEVITY! The real news is bad enuf, but then trying to cut thru all the FAKE news, we need these People to help sort out fact from fiction, even often in more depth than many local news channels that just present the news with little commentary. Therefore, in such a dismal period in our History, we really need as much humor, as possible!
I realize that lining up Guests for a return of these Shows, will present more of a problem for most, than ever before, & yes, i suppose some will need to hone their Monologue techniques? But i shall leave their Guest Lists up to them. But dam! we REALLY NEED TO LAUGH, especially now! And i suggest those who do return, agree to set up or contribute to any already existing – JOINT FUND, wherein Proceeds have been negotiated to getting necessary Payments for others, as worked out at the outset! But these Shows could provide the dual BENEFIT of bringing us bad news, with humor, while literally helping fund those barely hanging on! Again, they do provide info on the daily grist, every bit as much or more, than the GLUT of absolutely fabricated garbage that some networks try to 'pass off' as "newsworthy!" My sincerest apologies if i have offended?!
This is the exact reason Drew Barrymore wanted to start back on her show. At the end of the day, thousands of others will be homeless and go hungry due to this writers strike. Sadly when the strike ends, the only ones who will benefit is the writers. Producers, assistants, editors etc will face eviction and go hungry.
I feel sorry for these little guys who don't work consistently. They're like seasonal workers.
So, get a job where you really make a difference instead of continuing a fantasy life?
I had to check, bustout hand!🤑
You guys wanted to strike, deal with it
Strange how a lot of Americans strongly dislike corporate CEOs that make millions while the blue collar workers make chump change… but at the same time don't dislike the famous actor that gets paid $50 Million per movie while the film crews get chump change, too.
❤
Shows are terrible anyway. Maybe this will create better writing
