  1. Our family fell in love with the Faraway Inn about 25 years ago, and we’re all heartbroken to see our favorite little vacation spot destroyed like this. So many wonderful memories there! And I am particularly sad to hear that cottage #1 was taken by the sea, as it was my personal favorite! All of the love and healing energy that we can possibly muster is being poured onto this beautiful slice of heaven on earth, and I hope to see it back to its former glory again soon!!

**Edit::: After my mom spoke with Aimee this morning and offered to help in any way we can, she immediately decided to round up everymember of the family who could go help, and it looks like we’re leaving middle Tennessee and heading that way first thing Monday morning! I’m honored to get to lend a hand to the sweetest people and the strongest community I’ve had the privilege to meet. Looks like I’ll get to see the Faraway Inn and all of Cedar Key even sooner than I thought! ❤

  2. We were the last to stay in Cottage 1. We checked out Tuesday morning before the storm hit. It is so good to hear that the family is going to rebuild. I look forward to returning. We had a fantastic time and Aimee was an awesome host! <3

  3. But…sea walls ruin the view! And tax payers again will pay for people to live on these islands that no one should be living on! Guess what people this is going to start being a yearly thing. Taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for their flood insurance. Because the government covers their flood insurance with our tax money! And then we pay to rebuild with FEMA funds. I thought republicans believed people need to take responsibility and pull themselves up with their boot straps! But red states always have their hand out when disaster strikes and blue state senators and reps always say yes to aid. But when disaster hits blue states red state senators and reps vote no aid! I am so sick of the mean hateful republicans!

  4. If only there was a way of knowing Florida had a history of hurricanes…

  5. That’s crazy…. Part 2
