If this one pipeline was really that essential to the US economy, then it reveals the utter weakness of the oil-based economy and demonstrates why we need to develop alternatives at full speed.

There is a huge need for a large pipeline to run from the Permian Basin to Corpus Christi. Plans were in the works, and the entire industry was enthusiastically getting ready to roll. Then Biden shut down Keystone, just because he could. Then the entire pipeline industry stopped. Tens of thousands of us lost our jobs, and there are no new jobs to be had. No income for 2 years and counting. How many Anericans can handle zero income for 2 years? We have lost our retirement savings, our homes, our cars. And for those of us who are only a few years from retirement, there is no way to recoup that before we are too old to physically do the work. Where's OUR bailout?
