James Burke, a former police chief of the Suffolk County Police Department in New York, was arrested on charges of soliciting a sex worker and exposing himself at a park. Burke was also recently accused of setting back the Gilglo Beach murder investigation by refusing FBI help.

Man. The schadenfreude is big with this one.
I get it, but Burke didn't seem to learn a thing from his downfall re: trying to use his (former) position to affect desired outcome.
Resisting outside help – the FBI – for the Gilgo murders was 100% hubris.
If they did a documentary on the “bad apples” within U.S. police departments throughout history, it would be an ongoing series lasting decades.
