Just a thought. Before formulas, babies were nurtured on milk. Check with a pediatrician as to the best way to prepare an old fashion formula. I don't think a lot of young mothers know that. The formula rose to necessity in the 60s and granted it has vitamins, minerals, electrolytes etc. Maybe, it's time to face an alternative and know your baby will be okay. Those who need extra supplements can check with their doctor. I think a lot of formulas were made from carnations or pet canned milk.

Cow's milk can be the substitute. Please collect more information before feeding to the baby. But cow's milk for babies is common in India.

This is so stupid. Before there was Similac and that others there was CARNATION MILK! My family never fed the babies in our family those nasty overpriced formulas. We switched them the day they came from the hospital. Ladies! Carnation Milk! Two cans of milk, two cans boiling hot water, sterile glass bottles, no stomach problems, no constipation from iron EVER! Affordable if paying out of pocket. A little rice cereal can be added when they are six weeks old, never oatmeal or barley, RICE ONLY. Thank me later.

I can understand how annoying this is. I check every label and country of origin (not just where it’s distributed from) before buying. For some reason I wouldn’t feel comfy buying infant formula from a country in which infantcide and forced abortions were wide spread practices. This was against their own. We are their adversaries.
Where are the protests for this? I’d rather a tin of formula made here or in an ally nation, pay more and skip my fancy lattes, closets full of sub par clothes, and toxic dishes.
There was a time way back where people used pasteurized whole cow's milk with the cream still in it to feed babies. People have grown so use to using factory produced food's that they have forgotten about what nature has given us.

Well in Australia we have had a limit on number of tins of baby formula for years . But unfortunately what was causing the shortages was an insatiable demand for Australian made baby formula in China especially after poisoning scares with the local Chinese products. This meant that despite the formula producers exporting huge quantities. Local people were being paid to buy formula products and post/ ship same said products to China.
