Four people are dead and two are in critical condition after an electric bike repair shop in New York City caught fire. The fire was caused by lithium ion batteries that are stores in e-bikes.

Don't buy cheap personal electric vehicles with no name battery cells aka unbranded chinese batteries, use trusted chargers, charge near an exit, keep a fire extinguisher and fire blanket, and DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE PACK.
Just ban electric bikes from the city problem solved

I have a RAD Runner for sale. It doesn't have this problem. Stored outside in a patio. Not supposed to be charged over night. TOO LONG! Doesn't take but a few hours to fully charge one.
They need to ban all ebikes.

A few times I walked by that place and though of ebikes catching on fire. Then I thought these shops know the dangers and how to keep them safe. Guess not. bikes on top of bikes in a small space. There is another ebike shop down the block and its in a smaller space..
