If frontier and spirit merged there would have been no direct competitor, now you still have frontier vs spirit, and jetblue gets their lax spots, so this is really a win. If frontier and spirit joined they would have been able to raise their prices closer to the big guys, but now they can't

At least I would say the CEO did the right thing by openly coming out and politely explaining the situation, and also affirming their desire and drive to move forward building consumer confidence. wether or not they deliver on this stance is yet to be seen, but it's better than an angry negative response, we don't need anymore of that. the market will tell soon enough.
Speaking of planes. If the Democrats like spending money. How about investing money towards electric driven planes. Now that would be an achievement.

25 years in the airline industry.. making profit is the equivalent to finding a unicorn farting gold sparkles.. this CEO is more slimey then a NYC slumlord. Trying to make operating cost just off the ticket price is impractical and then turning a profit with extortion fees for basic services.NOT ACCEPTABLE. . most aircraft have a basic operating cost based on max weight . carry on bages should be limited in size only.. checked baggage should be charged by wieght .. I could go on and on .. but this CEO got a big blue helmet shoved right up his backside..
