The Federal Trade Commision sued Amazon on Wednesday over what they call “deceptive” sign-up and cancellation process for their digital service Amazon Prime. NBC News’ Gabe Gutierrez has more on the suit that alleges the company tricked customers into paying for their Prime memberships, then purposefully made them tough to cancel.

Finally !!
I guess the giant yellow "End Your Prime Membership" button wasn't enough?
I have prime and “two day shipping” and the last few times I ordered stuff it’s taken 3-5 days like normal shipping lol 😂 feels like a rip off
Yeap…. I fallen into this and later realized I didn't cancel and got charged for extra month…. later toke me huge efforts until I was able to cancel
25 Mil $ fine? That's a laugh.
Every time I order something on Amazon, they try to push me Prime subscription. You have to look really hard to find the decline option. They are also trying to push me express shipping for extra cost.
I Contacted Amazon Customer service about this EXACT SAME thing and their deceptive practice of AUTOMATICALLY placing Prime in my cart when checking out when I never wanted it – its far too easy to overlook because they do it and give 30 days free – THEN start billing you, I wrote a scathing letter to Amazon Admin about such FRAUDULENT scams ~ and apparently, they did nothing to cure their misconduct… good, FTC – fine BEZOS and his insatiable greed that he has to stoop to tricking customers out of their ca$h, that bald b*stard.
I'm a real person, not a bot. I love my Amazon subscription. For 15 bucks a month, I get free shipping on all Amazon products plus unlimited access to all of their streaming movies and TV. I canceled Netflix because they never had anything I wanted to watch.
Amazon doesn't make canceling very easy, but most online subscription services are similar. It's annoying, but not an insurmountable difficulty.
Get'em spot. Put Bezos in an overpriced prime cell with an extremely difficult to find exit that's covered in red tape.
Other studies predicted that the global trend toward plutonomies would continue, for various reasons, including "capitalist-friendly governments and tax regimes"
sign up for it , get free shipping, then go into your payments, and delete the credit card, then cancel the auto renew subscription
This never happened to me. 🤷🏻♂️
No matter what you do…Amazon Prime
gonna get their money………………………..
I lost count how many times they subscribed me to prime without my authorization.
