I’ve seen people still trying to claim it’s Pelosi’s fault or the Capital police’s fault, even blame the National Guard. When everyone in Trump’s orbit KNEW only he has the power to stop them. The fact that his Vice President, who was being hunted, had to be the one to call in the guards shows that the President had stopped acting as President that afternoon. Have we ever in the past had to wait for a Vice President to act, because the President refused? Thank goodness that the people he called responded, rather than insisting to hear from the President himself.
