In order to be granted asylum, an individual is required to provide evidence demonstrating either that they have suffered persecution on account of a protected ground in the past, and/or that they have a “well-founded fear” of future persecution in their home country. you must also be able to prove that you've applied for and been denied asylum in all countries that you passed through to get to the US. also if trying for refugee status you must do so from your home country through the UN and you do not get a choice of where you go.
of course we're delighted, we have a brand new boarder czar that hasn't lifted a finger to do anything, as well as a geriatric president who doesn't see anything wrong with a steady stream of illegals pouring into the country unchecked.

I really like this senator, but his views on the problem of migration are entirely political. Democrats never imagined we would be facing this humongous problem at the border and there is unfortunately no end in sight. Their solution is to let everybody in (in time).

Yea the President has agreements you mean like the US flying in immagrants putting the american people at risk. Democrats had the house the senate and the Presidency and couldn't come up with a plan what a bunch of losers.

You've got four components to the immigration issue and neither party is willing to address all of them.
Both parties are too busy playing the blame game to do anything substantial. The two party system is obviously broken and there's not a soul out there with a plan to fix it. Dividing and conquering takes up all their time and energy and fundraising can't forget about that.
I wish these Biden apologists would stop using facts when defending him. It just makes it harder to blame him for his predecessors' failures. Logic and reason have No Place in politics, afterall.

Thelast comprehensive immigration bill was 1986, the Simpson-Mazzoli act. Since thenboth parties have had the chance to pass legislation when they controlled both house's. Both parties have been unwilling to put forward a bill to vote on.

Tax cuts which mostly benefited the wealthy and were never paid for by raises to taxes somewhere else or cuts to other programs should be on the table instead of caps on spending that are cuts in Social Security and Medicare as well as cuts to veterans. People paid into these programs or gave service to the country. Republicans want to expand tax cuts for the wealthy again.
