Oh noooo 3 more years to purchase a military style assault rifle! NO ONE should own them, period! Also, what are background checks going to prove??? Nothing!! Should pass a mental competency test to own a gun. Go through gun safety classes. Always have background checks and have secured environments to sell/purchase guns.All guns and gun owners should be in the system. And at any point that a gun owner has a mental health issue/crisis , gun ownership should be off limits and ownership should he suapended until they are checked out and analyzed. Obviously the age to purchase and own a gun should go up to atleast 21 to 25 years of age because of how our brains develop. There should be long waiting periods to gun ownership. These types of changes can help society. Nothing is flawless but I definitely think this would make a change.

How about addressing the elephant in the room: While a generation of men have been told they're "toxic", suicides and mass shootings have increased dramatically…. While a generation has lost the church, suicides and mass shootings have increased dramatically…. While a generation increasingly lives behind a screen, suicides and mass shootings have increased dramatically…. A generation of kids growing up on anti depressants… A generation of kids growing up in broken homes…. There has always been alot of guns/weapons of all kinds, but our culture was strong enough to keep people from harming each other… It's a decline of culture problem, not a gun problem
