Gas prices have very little impact on the economy. Diesel prices are still much higher that Gas prices, and have a major impact.

This is how OPEC and oil companies are trying to normalize higher prices by raising gas to extreme prices then drop it slightly. Gas prices probably will never return to $2.00 a gallon but they can at least stop price gouging.

Still 6 dollars here in California smh lol. The real reason that gas is going down is that American working people can't afford it and therefore demand has dropped. Gas prices are dropping has more to do with the strong dollar and the markets believing we are headed for recession which will lower demand. The market knows that Biden's policies are driving us to recession. Hard to imagine the Biden admin was able to do this much damage in only 18 months with their democratic policies. Also, the drop will most likely only last for a month or 2 and it will start going back up in prices again.
ABC News, It would be a lot more helpful if you would compare prices to 2019 rather than last year. Last year gas prices were still wonky due to the pandemic and people not driving as much. It would be more meaningful if you compared prices to 2019, before the pandemic.

Dropping gas prices 10cents to 25cents a gallon at the pump ain’t gonna help that much. We need at least $2.00 a gallon less to help us make a difference in our lives!
