I have heard Zelensky offer to give up seeking NATO membership several times over the last few weeks so am not sure why this element, in itself, is any different now.
Looking at the devastation of cities and infrastructures, this is scorched earth on both sides. What's to win at some point with an uninhabitable landscape.

Russia can’t conquer Ukraine. We need to make sure they don’t win the negotiation. Thankfully, Zelensky isn’t taken advice from the Biden Admin. Congress should take the lead and provide Ukraine with enough firepower to drive the Soviets back across the Border. That includes tanks, jets, S300 Defense systems, etc.
Why should Ukraine give up an inch of their land. They are a free nation. Would we give up land to pacify Russia. I don't think so. If the our American govt cares about freedom, they would give Ukraine all that they need. There is more to this than fear of Putin who doesn't care for his own people or the world. Stop buying Russian oil and cut the tie.
