Disabled Navy veteran Richard Osthoff says Rep. George Santos helped raise thousands of dollars for a cancer treatment for his therapy dog and then never came through with the money. Santos did not respond to NBC News but told Semafor News it is not true. NBC News’ Ryan Nobles has more details.

The Republican Party is happy to have one more criminal as a member. Their goal is the same: money, and power. They are busy, not for them public services, but for removing all the "anti-trump" democrats from the government and for elevating their dictatorship control.
The crazy part is that society's hyperbole about politicians has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. People have casually thrown around generalizations like "they're all a bunch of crooks" for so long that, when a certifiable crook takes office, many's reaction isn't "they need to resign or be expelled", it's "well, so-and-so was a crook too" like some 5-year old justifying their bad behavior on the playground. This maddening cycle needs to end, starting with allies of the Speaker urging him to take the high road, even if it comes at a personal cost to his career.
Santos with his lies are not the problem. The GOP that keeps him around in the job is.

He scammed $3000 from GoFundme… For the cancer dog, from which he got an idea of creating an animal charity organization, which does not exist. Unfortunately the Constitution allows a convicted felon to be a member of Congress, even if in prison. It’s up to the Senate or House to decide who may serve. As for state offices, different laws apply in different places. Yet in some states a convicted felon cannot vote. Wtf. Mccarthy knew about Santos criminal activities but like Republicans did with ex-#45 looked the other way just to have a Republican body as a member of Congress. Mccarthy looking the other way putting Santos on two committees along with other Republican members of Congress involved in the January 6, 2021 coup attempt and insurrection so they can continue to destroy democracy from within by obstructing committees.
