I hope each commenter can sandwich their observations with an emphasis on how close the race is. I liked how the first half of this segment handled it. The other commenters also tried to give their observations in a reserved tone, but saying that one side has the lead (even if it is true at that point) can cause the reverse of that observation to become true. I understand that as a news show, you can't be silent on the current election trend but I think the key is what tone you leave off the segment in. It's important to emphasize at the end that things could go either way. That's the only true prediction you can make. And maybe place more focus on what each side is thinking (like the first half of this segment) rather than which side you think has the advantage.
In these divided times, any predictions of results can affect voter turnout and help the opposite result become true. People on both sides think it would be catastrophic if the other side were to win, and fight extra hard when they think their side is about to lose. This is different from the old days, when many voters merely preferred one candidate over another and may have stayed at home if they thought their preferred candidate was not going to win.
This wouldn't be a problem if the side that has the initial advantage also tended to vote as hard. But nowadays there are always multiple other things taking our attention – things we feel we could be missing out on. People always feel pressed for time and find it harder to devote an evening to voting if they think their side is going to win anyways. The psychology is different from when people think they are about to lose – in that case, urgency or anger kicks in.
We need a word for this phenomenon in modern elections. It is like the opposite of a self-fulfilling prophecy. I think it affected Trump's surprise election to presidency, the unexpected result of the BREXIT referendum, and the stopping of the predicted Red wave in the midterms.
News shows need a new strategy to handle the reporting of polls and preliminary results because it is not possible to report the trends without affecting the results (often in the opposite direction).
Could it be more obvious that the power grabbers have put an incompetent individual in a position to cause destruction?

Herschel Walker needs to be asked whether he supports Tre45on's platform to "terminate" the Constitution. All Republican officials in the House, Senate, Governorships and Candidates for Presidency need to be asked the same question. We need to know who are the traitors to our Constitutional Democracy.
Voters split on the character and competence of the candidates? Seriously? Warnock is a reverend has run a church, so that is evidence of character and competence in public service. As for Walker, he is a character (wants to be a werewolf, abandoned his kids, allegations of domestic abuse) and what competence would he bring as a public servant?
