Due to budget cuts during the Merkel era Germany only has 300 Leopard 2's but only 150 are operational. To make them operational it will take til 2024. Thus Germany has none to give.
The US is the one with spare tanks. If it is so critical for UKraine to get tanks then the US should send them.

US and Germany are hesitating supplying these top tier weapons to Ukraine because they don't want the Russians having the experience battleing( much worse capturing) these weapons in this stage at the war and are instead saving it for a trump card if Russia ever mobilizes on a official NATO ally. Sadly, they are willing to sacrifice Ukraine for the long run in a potential Nato-Russian conflict.

Can someone remind me why it is everyone else's responsibility to keep supplying Ukraine? Money, weapons, armored vehicles, ammunition, tanks, air defense, etc….. This has gotten out of hand. Every time America or any other country helps, within weeks they are right back wanting more. Not only more, but higher tech. I mean they are literally stating that it is the west's fault that Ukrainians are dying because we "refuse to help". Honestly, after their defense minister made that comment, I genuinely believe we all should show them what refusing to help truly means. At this point, after almost a year, billions in funding and equipment have been sent by the U.S. alone. And what is given in return? Pure ingratitude.
