After five decades, the three giant pandas at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo are leaving Washington, D.C. and heading back to China. NBC News’ Tom Costello has more details on how the panda exchange program captivated visitors from around the world.

China took all our manufacturing jobs and now they're taking back their Giant bears … they're probably going to snatch up Taiwan as well, and then … OPEN WAR AND NO MORE WASHING MACHINES OR WIDE-SCREEN TELEVISION SETS! China owns half our nation and half our debt, but you can't get politicians who are bribed to the gills by corporate executives to even THINK about US workers when it comes to ensuring the American Dream. The only thing US politicians can see is the green of the money they're being bribed, blinded and bound with. What a crappy political system the USA actually is. THE USA IS PATHETIC!

I know it's heartbreaking, but this kind of terminable agreement is best for the animals. For example, pandas Lele and Yaya were mistreated for years in Memphis Zoo, and Lele sadly died from diseases only months before his planned return to China. Luckily, Yaya made its trip back in April this year and now looks much better in Beijing Zoo. She would probably have been gone too if China did not have the option to bring her back. It's always nice to return home, especially as they are old now. Wish they will live happily in China.
Very sad. They’re living beings. Perhaps the US should not allow these types of contracts in the first place.
Oh well, just find another poor animal to gawk at or better yet go out and touch real grass sometime.
