It is very difficult to update something in google maps, and they don't respond to any change requests.

If you don't like straying into dangerous places, it's better not to use Google Maps. I work at a state park and there’s a really sketchy road that goes into the middle of the woods and into no where. We get complaints all the time about peoples gps leading them down that road to get out of the park.

I lived in Seattle in 2013 and applied for a vendor job updating Google Maps information. The jobs were temporary with no benefits and no job security. So yeah, that’s what happens when you rely on cheap labor to update your maps!

How about doing a story here in the state of Texas? Where the department that handles cleaning up the highways and freeways here does absolutely nothing and that department is called TxDOT. How about doing a story on them and how dangerous the roads are here because they refuse to clean them up on a regular basis at all times. People die here from road debris and also dangerous potholes on Texas freeways and highways and cause serious damage to cars. If they're able to survive the accident, how about doing a story on that and leave Google alone? How about going out the apple for their anti-consumer practices?
How about taking personal responsibility This is not Google's fault, but I do hate that the media don't make a big deal out of apples, sucky, map system, navigation. Whatever you want to call it over there but as soon as Google has something negative fucking media jumps on it. I'm so tired of it. If you going to follow something my Google Maps use common sense don't be going and not paying attention to what's going on in front of you. If it's storming out and you can't see the road clearly maybe you should find a place to stop for awhile until it's safe for you to drive again and if you're in Hawaii and you're headed for water hit the brakes.
Lots of GPS brans have had this issue at some point not just google.
I feel part of it is common sense too. Look before you leap. You should know when you are on a road and when you are not.
Also a big help if you stop closing down small businesses and stop rearranging roads. building larger cities and more residential zones, having less wide open spaces helps too.

I believe this is totally true. It seems these days tech is being used against more than for us. It’s Ai that’s being used in preduciced ways against anybody that’s not liked very much. People used to drive down railroad tracks and onto airport runways because they followed the gps. It's very clear that GPS is only a tool. out-of-date or not, it is the driver's responsibility to operate their vehicle safely. The bridge would have surely had signs or barricades. If they drove through them it is clearly their fault 100%. If there is no barricades, then it would be the private owners of the bridge responsible.
