Like it or not, GOP will be hitched to Trump wagon 2024 , unless personal legal issues prevent it. Trump already fired shot across Desantis bow , saying he would handle the issue "the way I handle things", hopefully, if you're Desantis, not like he handled Epstein threat. Trump has HUGE warchest and lots of un-finished foreign deals/obligations/ debts. After all, he still plans to hold Bibi to promise of re-naming annexed west bank Trumptown and site of holy future Trump tower.
