The USA is a Republic (that is self governed) we have what is known as a Representive Democracy (meaning we elect certain people to "represent" us.) Realistically you're an elected servant. Your "power" is loaned by we the people. If that's something you're not familiar with then either step down or know your role. Enough of this "I'm Spartacus" nonsense, you're not Spartacus Mr. Booker. You're an elected representative to the people of New Jersey, not an authority figure. If you think or want to be an authoritarian, you're definitely in the wrong Country. So "people" hold your representatives accountable. Hold their feet to the fire and remind them of this fact.
Give 'em an inch they'll take five miles, they prove that daily. Their job is to protect and serve the citizens and those who elect them. Not to constantly legislate (especially if it hurts the average citizen and enriches or gives them authority over the average citizen.)

C'mon Eric, all those problems can be solved by just passing laws against those sorts of problems. Wouldn't be great to make epilepsy against the law, road rage against the law, emergencies against the law. All problems can be solved through making laws that will stop anything bad.
