I starved my way through college on my own dime with scholarships. At the time I felt sorry for myself, but now not only do I feel I did better because I had to struggle to pay for it mostly out of pocket, but student loan debt paid off long, long ago, it's much better that I paid off what relatively little loans I had years ago–though I certainly struggled with them.
