I understand the need for fairness in sports. I guess what bothers me is the language of the young woman who said that she wanted to save girls' sports for girls. The only problem is, the young girl in Indiana IS ALSO a girl. We have Republicans here in Iowa, such as our governor, who say things such as "saving girls' sports for girls" but that's a slippery slope. What would these states do to young girls who happened to experience adverse hormonal issues, or to young girls who have growth spurts, or to young girls from different cultures who have histories of athleticism… Where does it stop???
