I'd ask why the egg is being peeled, but I remember mothers have been known to lightly bite on their own eggs to help the babies hatch.

It's skin is practically translucent… I never knew alligators had variations in pigment bands almost like tiger stripes… How COOL.. I have to agree with the guy who said we still haven't seen one hatched as it was peeled out of its shell.
