So very heartbreaking and saddening to view the torrential wall of wind blown fires that has devastated a lot of homes and has taken many Loved Ones in what once was such a lovely paradise…Prayers for all of those who are affected by this catastrophic tragedy…the volunteers and the First Responders as well

Power lines were already down before the fire even started and yet their govt chose to activate the TV & Cell Phone Emergency System instead of the Emergency Siren System???
Climate change now holds all the cards. So far Americans have done essentially nothing to adapt or prepare for how the accelerated destabilization of the climate will affect us.
We have the same issues here in California where we just let the forests grow constantly without any logging or managing fires to quell the overgrowth and underbrush. A beetle that eats bark is more important than giant fires.
Also Ukraine is more important than this. We have to keep our proxy war with Russia, and eventually China, rolling smoothly. You'll just have to wait for the Democratic President, and your Senators/Reps giving your taxes to Ukraine before they fix up your mud hut.

It’s not helpful putting politics into this disastrous event. Stop the blaming game also You simply have a storm system that created 50-60 mph winds, knocking down power lines causing fires. There’s nothing you can do with a fire traveling that fast period. I agree some things could have been done better, but it’s idiotic to blame it on a political party, an agency, an individual… Instead, do something to help.
It's 2023…. where was the fire department? This may be the closest, albeit barely at all, that anyone has come to explaining where and what exactly people who are supposed to fight fires were doing. Oh. The hydrants weren't working?
Sorry to be a nitpicker, but this fire is not "the deadliest wildfire in our nation's history," as this segment claims. The Peshtigo fire in 1871 in Wisconsin (occurring on the same day as the Great Chicago Fire) killed at least 1,152 people, and probably far more. Wind and fire combined to create a firestorm in the Wisconsin woods that wiped out the lakeside town of Peshtigo, killing even those who fled into Lake Michigan for safety.

Answers are easy. Incompetent government officials. The same who put yellow tape around small local parks during COVID. The same who built a $100,000 per foot rail to nowhere. The same who kneel to their DNC overlords and do nothing but let problems fester. This reminds me of when I worked at a prison. The management was as bad as the Hawaii government. We called it management by lawsuit. Doing nothing until sued, and so here we go.
