You know why Republicans and right-wing news outlets are unhappy about (finally) funding the IRS properly? It''s not to chase after the average working American. No, the goal is to get enough auditors to go after the millionaires, billionaires and big corporations that don't pay their legally owed taxes. Republicans would love to convice you otherwise, but look at history. Since 1981 Republicans have repeatedly given big tax breaks and all sorts of loopholes to the very wealthy and to big corporations. They are in a panic to protect their big campaign donations which the wealthy use to buy more special tax cuts.
How about your taxes? Have you received any big tax cuts in the last few decades? No? Why not? The Republicans keep complaining about taxes, but it's obviously not the average taxpayer they want to help.
