Hiking is a popular activity in Hawaii, but falls are not rare. Surviving a fall IS rare. While visiting Hawaii, any place in fact, pay attention to warnings from locals about sea currents, hiking trail signs, cautions. Have a good visit and live to tell your friends at home abut it.
