Memorial Day was started by former slaves on May, 1, 1865 in Charleston, SC to honor 257 dead Union Soldiers who had been buried in a mass grave in a Confederate prison camp. They dug up the bodies and worked for 2 weeks to give them a proper burial as gratitude for fighting for their freedom. JOHN 8:32KJV! EXODUS 20:17KJV!

My Dad served in Korea. If he were alive he'd have turned 90 today. His Dad served in France 1918-1919. His grandfather was a New Hampshire volunteer in the Civil war. His grandfather was a private and his great grandfather was a captain in the War of 1812. A dozen of my ancestors fought in the revolution. Never forget those who came before us and fought for our right to be Americans and free.
